Studio Policy

Tuition for each month is due by the first class of each month. Students may pay in cash or via WeChat. The fee covers a regularly scheduled weekly class, plus as many extra classes as the student wishes to have (subject to availability). Also included are printed assignments, my full time availability, full access to the music, book and DVD library, plus home or studio visits, field trips to concerts, shows, clinics and music stores; includes consultation for any matter which impacts the student, such as discussing options for the purchase of a drum set that is right for their unique situation. The tuition guarantees their time slot exclusively. I am always available to answer any questions or for any other reason.

Prepare for Class

Classes begin at the scheduled time. It’s advised that students arrive about 10 minutes early. Please be prepared for class: have completed the required assignments, have their instrument ready and their assignment out. Students will be expected to present details of their practice experience from the previous week. Please bring a notebook, manuscript paper, music books, drumsticks and current music to class. All students are encouraged to shape the discussion, participate and be engaged in the fun of learning. The work takes time. You are expected to work at it each day in order to make progress.

Please provide 24hour notice for cancellations. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled class time are not eligible for make-up. Classes which are cancelled in advance (more than 24 hours before the class) must be made up. In the event you are sick on the day of your regular class, a make-up class can be scheduled within the next two weeks at a time convenient to both parties. Rescheduled classes cannot be changed or rescheduled a second time.
